why do cheap guitars never have cool looking inlays?
Posted in cheap guitars | October 30th, 2009
on the cheaper guitars there always dot inlays, but the more expensive ones have stuff like shark tooth inlays, vines, etc. i just dont see why that would raise the price of a guitar?
Fancy inlays are very labor intensive. Dots can be cut from basically a dowel rod. Vines and other intricate things are usually hand cut.

uhm why not
I can clearly see how that would raise the price of a guitar
Different materials used, more dye required, more time and attention from a luther

They don’t work as well, so if they look cool they will sell.
