Did i get a kids guitar?
i got a Gibson Maestro single cutaway carvetop for christmas. im 20 and know nothing about guitars, but have always wanted one. the guitar looks real cool but kinda small and i was wondering if it is a smaller guitar for kids to learn on or if it is just the style of guitar. as you could imagine, if it is a mini guitar i think i might take it back an get a normal sized guitar so i dont look like an idiot when my buddy sits down to teach me how to play. thanks for your help!

No, it is replica of a classic guitar. It’s got 22 frets which is average, and dual humbuckers give a good tone. Try to get a chord chart and practice by making each chord sound as "clean" as you can. It will give you a good start to learning to play.

nope but electrics seem to look small compared to an acoustic. very nice guitar by the way. im me for songs to learn or just tabs and stuff, im a begginer too(well i know some stuff but doesnt everybody lol)

… Kids guitars are 2 feet long and have Dora the Explorer on them. All Gibson;s are full fledged shred machines

no, it’s a slightly smaller guitar but i think you got the same guitar (or just about) as the guitarist of Green Day. either way, i would’ve gone for a gibson firebird…. but that’s more a personal preference kind of thing.

Look at this way, what did YOU pay for it?
It’s a student guitar. And it’s real. The 24 3/4 inch string length is the same as a big buck $$$$ Gibson Les Paul. So take care of it. Good Luck!
